Argentinian politician and union militant who is best known as being an Ambassador to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and to the United Kingdom. She first began the role in 2006 and was eventually succeeded by Carlos Cheppi in 2011. Her Twitter account Alicia Castro has gained over 60,000 followers.
She previously worked as a flight attendant for Argentinian Airlines and entered politics through the trade union movement.
In 1997, she was elected to the Argentine Chamber of Deputies as a deputy for Buenos Aires Province and was re-elected in 2001. From 1997 to 2005, she was the General Aircraft Sec. National Deputy.
She is the mother of Mildred Castro.
