Kenny Troutt Net Worth

Kenny Troutt was born in 1948 in Dallas, Texas. He began his career selling life insurance and used the funds to pay for his tuition at Southern Illinois University. In 1988, he founded the long-distance phone company Excel Communications and took it public in 1996. Two years later, he merged it with Teleglobe in a $3.5 billion deal. Troutt reinvested the profits in stocks, bonds and horses, and sponsors his two sons' nationally competitive youth basketball teams. He also owns WinStar Farm in Versailles, Ky., which houses 300-500 horses, including the 2016 Belmont Stakes winner Creator.
