French former professional basketball player who played both internationally and for the NBA. He went undrafted in the 2015 NBA draft and after playing a season in Italy, signed with the Denver Nuggets in July 2006. He also played with the Miami Heat and the Memphis Grizzlies.
He attended college in the U.S. and played college basketball at Southern Idaho before transfering to Pepperdine University.
He was the second French player for the Denver Nuggets and the tenth French player in the NBA. He was named co-MVP and best new player during his junior season at Pepperdine.
His parents are Binto and Ansoumane Diawara. He has two sisters, Kankou and Fatoumata, and one brother, Sourakhata.
He was a starter on the French junior team at the 2000 European championships, alongside Tony Parker and Ronny Turiaf.
