Actress of the silent era who starred in Hollywood features such as Director King Vidor's classic film Wild Oranges.
She started out acting and dancing in the Midwest before coming to Hollywood in the early 1920s.
Although she made the transition to talking films successfully, she shunned fame, failed to find a suitable studio for her talents, and decided to retire.
Her first husband, Charles Farrell, was also a noted Hollywood actor and served as mayor of Palm Springs from 1948 to 1954.
