He graduated from Hofstra University. After graduating he became an insurance adjuster.
From 2011 through 2013, he served on the city council of Randolph, New Jersey and as its mayor in 2013. He was also elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2014.
His wife is Debbie MacArthur. They have three children, David, Isabella and Grace MacArthur.
