Chef and restauranteur well-known for competing on the British reality competition show MasterChef: The Professionals. He has worked as both the corporate chef and the culinary director of The Raviz in India, and he is the owner/founder of the restaurant chain Restaurant Chef Pillai. He shares images of many of his culinary creations to more than 750,000 followers on his chef_pillai Instagram account.
He began his culinary career as a waiter for a restaurant called Chef King in Kerala, at the age of 17. He made several career advancements over the years following, eventually gaining the title of sous-chef at Purple Poppadom and later as head chef at Cinnamon Culture in England, where he also carries citizenship.
He has appeared as a judge on the Malayalam television series Mounaragam as well as on the cooking game show Kutti Kalavara Seniors. He began hosting the cookery show Onnonnara Ruchi in 2023.
He is the son of Sasidharan Pillai and Radhamma Pillai, both of whom were coir laborers. He has 2 children with his wife Remya Suresh, named Aishwarya and Sreehari.
