Soviet and Russian performance artist internationally known for performing pantomime. He is known for creating the stage performances Asisyai-revue, Slava's Snowshow, and Diabolo.
He graduated from the Leningrad Institute for Soviet Culture in engineering. He started the pantomime theater Licidei in 1968.
He made his first television appearance on the New Year's Eve program Goluboy Ogonyok in 1981. He organized a mime parade in 1982 which included over 800 mimes taking to the streets in Leningrad.
He was born in Novosil, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union.
In school theatre, he was successful in imitating the artist and actor Charlie Chaplin.
