He served as a member of the New Hampshire Executive Council from 2011 to 2017 before becoming the governor.
He earned a bachelor's degree in civil and environmental engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He founded The Doorway and the Recovery Friendly Workplace initiative. He worked as the CEO of the Waterville Valley Resort.
His father, John H. Sununu, is a former governor. He has seven siblings.
He and Donald Trump both announced that they would be running in the 2024 presidential election.
