Between 1997 and 2003 she released four albums before joining the band The Wailin' Jennys. She left the band in 2007. She has since continued to write, compose and produce records and collaborate with artists internationally.
As a child, she was a member of the Canadian Opera Company. She studied interdisciplinary fine arts at Concordia University in Montreal.
