World Music singer from Lebanon who rose to fame after co-founding the duo Soapkills, one of the first independent electronic bands in the Middle East. She moved to Paris, collaborating with other artists and coming out with her first album, Arabology, in 2008 under the Y.A.S moniker. In 2012, she released her first self-titled solo album in France, which was released internationally in 2013. She is known for playing with various dialects in her lyrics.

She and Zeid Hamdan (no relation) formed the duo Soapkills and released their first album, Bater, in 1999. Because of Soapkills' ingenuity, she remains an icon of underground music in the Arab world.
