Did you know, Men can get Breast Cancer too? I know because a male relative of mine did...Thank you @drcindymduke for this awesome info! * Compared to Breast Cancer in women, it’s rare! Less than 1% (1 in 1000) of men will get Breast Cancer. However, if caught early, a man with Breast Cancer has exceptional chances of surviving the disease. * While diagnosis and treatment of Breast Cancer in men is similar to the process for women, it is highly recommended that any man with Breast Cancer get genetic testing to see if he is a carrier for the Breast Cancer gene (e.g BRCA). This is important to do because if he has a daughter who inherits the gene, she has an up to 80% chance of developing breast cancer and up to 40% chance of developing ovarian cancer. In addition, he and his sons, if they inherit the gene, are at risk for developing prostate cancer at a young age. * So, how can a guy get screened for Breast Cancer? Firstly, he or his healthcare provider should do a Breast exam. Specifically, if you feel a hard lump or growth underneath the nipple or areola, you should get it checked out, ASAP. Men carry a higher mortality, from Breast Cancer, than women do, because awareness among men is less and they are less likely to assume a lump is Breast Cancer, which can cause a delay in seeking treatment. * 👊🏿👊🏿Early Detection Saves Lives!! 👊🏿👊🏿 * #rethinkpink #breastcancerawareness #mengetbreastcancertoo #changemasculinenorms #earlydetectionsaveslives

Folks: This is laamb wresting! Laamb wrestling is a traditional Senegalese sport and martial art. It’s a beautiful spectacle that captivates and inspires me. Not a lot of people know that laamb wrestling was one of my main inspirations for the look and feel of M’Baku. In particular, it guided me as I prepped for the Warrior Falls “challenge day” scene. 💪🏿 I love our culture, its staggering diversity and the depth and richness of its expressions... Shout-out to our culture bearers! #Senegal #athlete #laambwrestling #sports #mbaku

I had the honor of delivering the keynote speech at the United Nations #heforshe IMPACT summit on Tuesday. I made a call to action to all men and boys to make a commitment to Gender-Justice and join this growing movement. If you seek to live in a fair and just world put your values in action: be an agent of change, an agent of justice and an instrument of progress. Choose to listen, choose to believe, choose to stand with women. #heforshe #genderjustice #ibelieve

Its a wrap! 🎬🎬Been gone for a minute from the daily insta life...Working with the genius @jordanpeele and the venerable @lupitanyongo couldn’t have been more of a blessing! We’re cooking up good things for you folks! I’m sure the term Peele-esque or peeleian will be a staple in the film history lexicon once we’re done with ya! #us #letsgo #film

Pay equity for Black women affects us all. When Black women lose wages, we all miss out on more vibrant, just, and prosperous communities with Black women thriving and driving. Build a stronger society by standing behind equal pay for our Black women! #equalpay #38percentcounts #heforshe
