Perhaps most well known for his portrayal of Anthony Falconetti in the miniseries Rich Man, Poor Man, he is also notable for his role as James "Kimo" Carew in Hawaii Five-O, as well as for his work in The Virginian; The Asphalt Jungle; Laredo; and Zero One. He is also famous as television's last tobacco-advertising Marlboro Man.
When he was just eight years old, he made his (uncredited) screen acting debut in The Ghost of Frankenstein. Before launching an adult career as a stuntman and actor, he served in the United States Air Force and earned a bachelor's degree from Syracuse University and a master's degree (in Russian Studies) from the University of California-Los Angeles.
