Founding member and Saxophonist for the rock band Chicago who also played flute and clarinet.
He graduated from DePaul University with a B.A. in classical clarinet. He was inspired by The Beatles to create rock 'n' roll horn music.
He became a Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia member.
He married his wife, JacLynn, and they raised two daughters together.
He was inspired to incorporate saxophone into rock music after hearing "Got to Get You into My Life" written by Paul McCartney.
