American Painter, ceramics designer, and muralist known for such naturalist-themed works as "Reflection in a Pool." Much of his family's collection of his work was damaged by Hurricane Katrina.
His family owned the Shearwater Pottery in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, where he worked as a designer.
He was hired by the Depression-era Works Progress Administration to create a series of murals for the local public school system.
He was one of three sons born to Annette McConnell and George Walter Anderson in New Orleans, Louisiana.
He created more than 9,000 realizations and visualizations based on classic novels such as Lewis Carroll's "Alice in Wonderland." Other classics he tackled included "Don Quixote," "Faust," and "Legends of Charlemagne" by Bulfinch.
