Motorsports pioneer most widely remembered as the founder, Chairman and President of the National Hot Rod Association. He is a member of the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America and the International Motorsports Hall of Fame.
He got his start in the magazine Business as the co-founder and first Editor of Hot Rod magazine in the 40's.
A trophy in his name is traditionally given to winners of National Hot Rod Association events.
His wife, Barbara, died in 2006.
He and Bobby Rahal are both members of the International Motorsports Hall of Fame.
