Five years ago this day was when I stepped out of the comfort and predictability of a corporate job. . The challenges, the unpredictability, but ultimately the sheer joy of having turned my passion into a full-time profession have made this one exhilarating ride. . I owe my success to all of your love, support and encouragement. I look forward to many decades of knowledge sharing through innovative teaching. . I hope to do a Instagram LIVE sharing my experience so far. . “Life is not about what you couldn’t do so far, it’s about WHAT YOU STILL CAN. Glossy Ibis, Bharatpur . Canon 1DX + Canon EF 800mm f5.6 L IS + 1.4x III Converter, ISO 320, f8 @ 1/320, Manual Exposure . Use a converter only in excellent sunlight and avoid in low light situation. Generally converters are ok to use for the super sharp tele lens like the 400mm f2.8 / 500mm f4 / 600mm f4 / 800mm f5.6 . I would never advice the use of a tele converter for any other lens. Of course, you will have to check the MTF chart of the lens to see how it performs with a converter. . Hope to do my FB LIVE / Instagram Live soon and resume sharing my photography knowledge. . Any queries on photography? Shoot here. . Feel free to share this post. It's free to share ;) . -- SSP - for the love of learning

The amazing lowlight capability of the #SamsungA7 helped me to capture this from a moving boat. I am glad these features are being put in the phones and cell phone photographers can now shoot these kind of pics. #TurnDullIntoBright #withGalaxy #TripleCamera #SamsungCollaboration @samsungindia

Go for backlit images... . Play with light...it's not always necessary that you need a front lit subject....especially with birds in flight..they look awesome with light coming through the feathers... . If any of you have any specific image like these, do let me know and would love to see your pics on instagram.

Things which spoils your good image... . I like everything about this image - The lighting, action, warm colours, eye contact...but still it does not have the wow factor... . In an image, the background makes or breaks the image....the split background has spoiled what could have been a good image. . I was sitting in the vehicle and shooting, it was a low angle. To get a nice complementary background a better angle would have been to stand and shoot so that you get a uniform background. . Always watch the background of your scene when you compose it. . -- SSP - for the love of learning.

Zoom in.... Photography Tips for all... . When given an opportunity, zoom in and try to get those candid moments which conveys the story. Another pic I would have loved is the tongue out and licking the blood. . This is where the long tele helps. It's not necessary that you should always compose the full subject. Zoom in completely and capture parts of it. . The Hyenas are excellent hunters and they have the endurance to chase the prey till they get tired and then attack. They simply keep running behind the prey at a constant pace...unlike the cats, these predators start eating their prey alive. I do have the video of this hunt where the Wildebeest gets up and attacks the Hyenas with it's back portion half eaten. Will process and post it soon. . Canon 1DX + Canon EF 800mm f5.6 L IS, ISO 1250, f5.6 @ 1/250, Evaluative Metering -2/3 Stop. Cropped 30% and retained 70% of frame to show the close-up of the face. . -- SSP - for the love of learning. . Photography Tips for beginners... . Expose and focus first, then compose your shot... . Its of no use if you have a shaken or out of focus shot. The steps I follow for my execution are: . 1. Study the lighting and get the exposure triangle parameters correct. . 2. I mostly shoot in Av (A) mode of exposure, set the aperture to the lowest f number supported by the lens, set an ISO and check the corresponding shutter speed and alter the ISO accordingly. . 3. In most cases, the lowest f number of the lens will work well, unless you want to work with depth of field. . 4. Once I have the exposure set, I work on my focusing aspects and ensure I get a track sharp image. . 5. Finally work on composition and this is what makes or breaks your image. . -- SSP - for the love of learning. . Landing... . It's all about getting your focusing options correct. What kind of focusing points do you feel will work in this case ? . If you are a beginner in photography, take your time to understand the various kind of focusing options available: . 1. One Shot / AF-S - For still subjects 2. AI Servo / AF-C - For moving subjects . This is just the basic. The real part of auto focusing lies in your ability to understand and choose the correct kind of AF points. Most of the mid range and advance cameras have different focusing points selection and that's what matters in action photography. . -- SSP - for the love of learning. .
