Famous for sponsoring the creation of a Texas outdoor art installation known as the Cadillac Ranch, Marsh also appeared in The Plutonium Circus and other documentary films about the exhibit and/or his native Texas.
After studying history and economics at the University of Pennsylvania, he worked as a banker and television executive.
He was accused on several occasions of sexual misconduct with minors and was charged in 2013 with multiple counts of related offenses.
He and his wife Wendy O'Brien Marsh adopted five children.
Armed with a bucket of cattle dung, he made a memorable appearance at the 1975 political corruption trial of one-time Texas Governor John Connally.
