Scott Steindorff was born in Stillwater, Minnesota in September 1960. He is known for adapting bestselling books into movies and studied theater production at Arizona State University. Scott co-formed the film production company Stone Village Pictures, LLC in 1998.
From 2003 to 2005 he was executive producer for the television series Las Vegas and was also a consultant and creative consultant. Steindorff has produced the movies The Human Stain in 2003, Penelope and Paradise Lost in 2006, Love in the Time of Cholera in 2007, Stan Helsing in 2009, The Lincoln Lawyer in 2011, Gimme Shelter in 2013, and Chef in 2014. He is scheduled to producing the upcoming film Jane Got a Gun in 2015.
In 2005 he was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Miniseries for Empire Falls. Steindorff is a board member of the International Institute of Modern Letters.
