She made her directorial debut on the musical short film, Amulet of Love.

Schatar is an American Legion Distinguished Scholar and is a recipient of the Peabody Voice Achievement Award. She is a popular speaker and guest lecturer at colleges, universities, and media events including UCLA, UNLV, , Rio Hondo College, and the LA Convention Center.

Schatar hosted the BMA Music Awards, presented at the FOX Reality Awards and has judged the regional Emmy Awards.
