Gymnast who competed for the United States in the 1904 Olympics in St. Louis.
He competed in gymnastics tournaments in Germany, before moving to America when he was 15; in the U.S. he was a cabinet maker while training as a Gymnast.
When he died he was nearly 106 years old, which made him the longest-lived Olympian in history.
He grew up in Magdeburg, Germany, but after moving to America at 15, he stayed in the states.
He kept the title of longest-lived Olympian for more than 32 years, until shooter Walter Walsh broke it.
