Known as "Mr. October" for his World Series heroics, he recorded 563 career home runs and was named American League MVP in 1973. He won 5 World Series Championships, taking home World Series MVP honors in 1973 with the Oakland Athletics and in 1977 with the New York Yankees.
He excelled in football, basketball, baseball, and track at Cheltenham High School in Wyncote, Pennsylvania.
