Qiu Yuen is an actress, director, and producer born in 1948. She apprenticed Chinese martial arts and Beijing-opera skills with Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung, and Kam-Bo under the same master, Yu Jim-yuen, while at the Beijing Opera School. She worked briefly as a female stunt artist and night club performer in the late 60s and early 70s, but took a hiatus from her career and got married. In 1974, she had a small role in the James Bond film, "The Man with the Golden Gun". After 28 years away from Hong Kong's film business, she starred in the international smash hit, Kung Fu Hustle (2004). Her first grandchild was born in 2004.

Biography/Timeline

1960

Yuen Qiu worked as a stuntwoman and as a night club performer from the late 1960s to early 1970s. She had a small role in the international production, The Man with the Golden Gun (1974), portraying a student rescuing Roger Moore as James Bond. As there were few opportunities for stuntwomen and barely any prospects for improvement at the time, she got married in 1974 at the age of 24.

On 31 March 2005, Yuen was arrested along with 10 other women and two men for illegal gambling.
