Penny Edwards was a vivacious blue-eyed blonde born in New York City in 1928. She began studying dance at age six and appeared on Broadway in "The Ziegfeld Follies of 1943". She was signed by Warner Brothers in 1947 and starred in a number of musicals and films. After a successful vaudeville tour, she was signed by Republic Pictures and appeared in a series of "prairie flower" ingénue roles. She later appeared on popular TV shows and commercials, and married twice. She retired from show biz in the mid-1960s and died of lung cancer in 1998, two days after her 70th birthday.
