Experimental electronic musician and singer best known as a member of the psychedelic pop group Animal Collective. He has also released acclaimed solo albums, such as Person Pitch.
He studied Religion at Boston University before forming Animal Collective in New York in the early 2000's.

He married fashion designer Fernanda Pereira and together they have a son and a daughter.
