Working as an actress, screenwriter, theatre director and producer, she still dabbles in TV work and theatre. Capers and her husband, Hedges Capers, co-wrote the musical "The Geeze & Me" which she directed. It opened in San Diego to sold-out crowds and standing ovations last year. They are currently (2018) in negotiations to take the show on tour.
