Prolific Drummer recognized most as a member of the Dutch metal band Within Temptation. He joined the group in 2011. He has also served as a member of the acoustic project Maiden uniteD and the indie rock band Cloudmachine.
He was ten years old when he began playing the drums and would later play in a band in high school. He would eventually study at the conservatory in his home city of Tilburg.
In addition to his other projects, he has performed with the classic rock band Red Vultures.
He has a sister named Kristel. His girlfriend, Marlous Nypels, is a Pianist.
