Italian Artist who published his Codex Seraphinianus-- an encyclopedia filled with drawings of imaginary things-- in 1981. The book was first released on a limited run of 5,000, but has since been republished more than 5 times.
He worked as a Milan-based Architect and designer during the early 1980s. And he went on to have a ceramic laboratory in Umbria where he created the work Carpe Diem.
He designed lighting, sets, and costumes for The Jazz Calendar, a ballet that was performed at the Teatro Alla Scala.
He was born in Rome, Italy.
He illustrated an edition of In the Penal Colony, a story by author Franz Kafka.
