Austrian Zoologist, ethologist, and ornithologist who won the 1973 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine and is considered one of the founders of modern ethology.
He started a premedical curriculum at Columbia University in 1922 and studied at the University of Vienna in 1923.
