Her mother worked hard to provide dance lessons for her daughter, while her father had a variety of jobs. Judee was an aspiring dancer and actress, and eventually attended Oklahoma State University and U.C.L.A. She met and married Ian Fraser, an Emmy-Award-winning composer and musical director, and left film acting for two decades to raise a family and earn an M.A. in educational psychology. She has since returned to film acting and is also a practicing psychotherapist in Los Angeles. She is the author of a self-help book and her two children are a certified yoga instructor and a prize-winning chef.
