White Episcopal seminarian and martyr of the Civil Rights Movement who was murdered while defending a black unarmed teenage girl.
He graduated as Valedictorian of his high school.
His assassination helped spur support for the Civil Rights Movement among members of the Episcopal church partially because many couldn't believe that an educated white person could be a victim of such a crime.
He was raised by his parents, Phillip Brock Daniels and Constance Weaver.
He participated in Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.s nonviolent protests.
