Jay Russell is an acclaimed director, producer, and writer from North Little Rock, Arkansas. He got his start at the age of 19, filming commercials for the Arkansas Parks and Tourism division. He then went on to study at Columbia University in New York City, where he received his MFA in Screenwriting and Directing. His first film, "End of the Line" (1988), was well received at Sundance and won a theatrical release by Orion Classics. Russell has since gone on to produce a number of documentary series and specials for NBC, CBS, The Learning Channel, and the Discovery Channel. He also wrote, produced, and directed "Great Drives" (1997) for PBS. His most successful films include "My Dog Skip" (2000), "Tuck Everlasting" (2002), "Ladder 49" (2004), and "Water Horse: Legend of the Deep" (2008). In 2015, he is producing the World Premiere of the theatrical production of the classic thriller, "Rear Window."
