Politician and Royal Prince of Ngwaland, who set many precedents for offices held in Nigeria. He was the first Speaker of the Nigerian House of Representatives from 1959 to 1960 before becoming the Ambassador of Nigeria to the United Nation.
He was Nigeria's first Minister of Foreign Affairs and after he did he was posthumously given the Golden Jubilee Independence Anniversary Award.
He was married to Rhoda Idu Oona Onumonu in 1951 and they raised five biological children, as well as adopting many orphans.
He was close friends with a few Presidents of the United States, including Lyndon B. Johnson.
