Boxer who gained wide attention after signing on to fight social media superstar and professional boxer Jake Paul, as a replacement for Tommy Fury, brother of two-time world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury. He has gained a large following on his _HasimRahmanJr Twitter account for his boxing and personal content.
He was a former sparring partner of Paul's. He's had over 100 amateur fights, and didn't turn pro until 2017.
He has fought weighing as much as 269 pounds and weighed 224 pounds in his last pro bout, a TKO loss to James McKenzie Morrison in April.
He is the son of Hasan Sharif Rahman, the two-time world heavyweight boxing champion who had his last real pro fight, a loss, against Wladimir Klitschko, whose brother is the former boxer and now mayor of Kyiv, Ukraine, Vitali Klitschko.
In the buildup to his boxing match with Jake Paul, he and Paul claimed to have legitimate gripes against each other, stemming from their initial sparring sessions from back in 2020. As Paul tweeted right after the announcement of the fight: "i've wanted this fight ever since Hasim ran his big mouth to me 2 years ago in the gym."
