Famous for his membership in the prominent Roosevelt political family, Hall Roosevelt was the nephew of President Theodore Roosevelt; the younger sibling of First Lady Franklin D. Roosevelt.
His parents, Anna and Elliott Roosevelt, both passed away during the first three years of his life, and he and his sister Eleanor were subsequently raised in Tivoli, New York, by their grandmother.
He earned an advanced degree in engineering from Harvard University. Sadly, suffering from alcoholism, he died when he was just fifty years old.
His first marriage, to Margaret Richardson, resulted in sons named Henry and Daniel and a daughter named Eleanor. Following his divorce from Richardson, he married Dorothy Kemp (whom he also eventually divorced); the couple raised daughters named Amy, Diana, and Janet Roosevelt.
His nephew James Roosevelt served during the 1950s and 1960s as a United States Congressman from California.
