While working for the Chicago Tribune, he secured a 1922 interview with Russian Communist leader
He married Helen Wiesman in 1932. He outlived his wife by two decades, passing away in 1995 at the age of 104.
He and fellow writer Bob Greene both worked for The Chicago Tribune.
