He made his debut as writer/director with "Night of the Creeps" and "The Monster Squad", both of which received mixed reviews and flopped at the box office, but have since gained cult followings. He wrote five episodes of the horror anthology series "Tales from the Crypt", and wrote the stories for the revenge thriller "Ricochet" and the spy spoof "If Looks Could Kill". More recently, he wrote several episodes of and served as a consulting producer on the science fiction TV show "Enterprise".
