Famous for suddenly dressing herself in a hijab, the veil traditionally worn by Muslim women, this Malaysian beauty had previously risen to fame as a reality television star, beauty pageant contestant and Playboy model.
After teaching kindergarten for a time, she competed in such modeling competitions as Dewi Remaja, I Wanna Be a Model, and Miss Malaysia Tourism.
At age twenty, she was a finalist in the Miss Chinese World Malaysia beauty pageant. Four years later, she was a Miss Universe Malaysia runner-up.
She was raised in Kuala Lumpur and Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia. In 2014, shortly after beginning to wear a hijab, she announced her conversion to Islam.
