British sculptor, stonecutter, and printmaker associated with the Arts and Crafts movement. He sculpted Ariel Between Wisdom and Gaiety.
He studied at Chichester Technical and Art School and then moved to London to train as an architect.
He was deeply religious and followed the Roman Catholic faith.
He married Ethel Hester Moore in 1904.
He created a typeface used in the London Underground, which was designed by John Fowler.
