Baltimore-born criminal known for her association with the radical leftist group known as the Symbionese Liberation Army. She spent eight years in prison for the kidnapping of Patty Hearst and, following her release, was sentenced to another eight years for the murder of Myrna Opsahl.
She was a straight-A student at Indiana University and later taught English at Binford Junior High in Bloomington, Indiana.
Between prison sentences, she started a successful computer consulting company and worked for MGM Studios.
Her father was engineer Frederick Schwartz. Her husband William Harris was an accomplice in many of the SLA's criminal activities.
She was a member of the Symbionese Liberation Army, which was led by Donald Defreeze.
