Award-winning choreographer and teacher of contemporary dance. She founded the dance studio, Streb Extreme Action, which is known for its outrageous risk taking and experimental skills and choreography styles. She is the inspiration behind the documentary, Born to Fly: Elizabeth Streb vs. Gravity.
She graduated from the dance program at State University of New York at Brockport in 1972 and founded her own dance company in 1975.
She received a Foundation for Contemporary Arts Grants to Artists Award in 1996.
She was born and raised in Rochester, New York. She married Laura Flanders.
She and Mia Michaels are both choreographers who specialize in contemporary art.
