The Los Angeles Dodgers drafted Jackson during the sixth round of the 2001 MLB Draft. He played with the Dodgers until 2005, making his pro debut on September 9, 2003. He has since played for Tampa Bay, the Detroit Tigers, the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Chicago White Sox, the St. Louis Cardinals, the Washington Nationals, and the Chicago Cubs.
As of the fall of 2014, Jackson pitches with the Cubs. He was named an MLB All-Star in 2009 and pitched his first career no-hitter against the Rays on June 25, 2010. He was part of the 2011 World Series championship team with the Cardinals. Through the middle of August 2014, Jackson has an 84-102 win-loss record, a 4.58 earned run average, and 1,225 strikeouts.
