Veteran who lost a leg while deployed in Afghanistan and who now uses fitness to help inspire other soldiers who've been deployed readjust to life once they return home. He's been named the World's Strongest Man in the Adapted Division/seated.
He was injured by an IED while trying to clear the devices from an area in which U.S. planned to build a school for Afghan children.
He co-founded Team Some Assembly Required (SAR), a non-profit comprised of adaptive athletes and their supporters dedicated to the growth and expansion of competitive adaptive sports across multiple disciplines.
He became an advocate for IVF treatments for veterans after his injuries made it impossible for he and his wife to conceive naturally, but then realized his government insurance would only cover half of the cost of the procedure.
He and his Some Assembly required team were pictured with Arnold Schwarzenegger after competing in one of his Arnold Sports Festivals.
