Famous as the host of the popular graphic design-centric podcast Design Matters. She has seen it named one of iTunes' best podcasts in 2015, and earned a Cooper Hewitt National Design Award in 2011.
She earned her bachelor's degree in English with a minor in Russian literature in 1983 from SUNY Albany.
She has worked as the editorial and creative director of popular design magazine Print. She has also served as the president emeritus of the American Institute of Graphic Arts.
She divorced from her first husband at age 30.
