She joined the Accelerando Music Conservatory in Pittsburgh at 11 to hone her singing skills. After releasing her first EP, 'Daya', in 2015, her single "Hide Away" reached the 23rd spot on the Billboard Hot 100. She then relocated to Los Angeles and went on a countrywide music tour, performing as a supporting act for Jack & Jack. In February 2017, she won a Grammy Award for the soundtrack "Don't Let Me Down".
