Professional southpaw that was selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks during the 14th round of the 2016 Major League Draft. He was later acquired by the Tampa Bay Rays via trade in May 2018. His baseball fame has led him to amass more than 5,000 followers on his Instagram account.
Prior to his professional career, he played college baseball at Dallas Baptist University. He was originally drafted by the Baltimore Orioles as a senior at Edward S. Marcus High School but he instead chose to attend the University of Arkansas. He later transferred to DBU.
He made his official major league debut pitching against the Boston Red Sox on June 8, 2019, as a member of the Rays. A few months later, he made his official postseason debut as a rookie pitching against the Houston Astros during the 2019 ALDS.
Although he was born in Columbus, Ohio he grew up living with his family in the Flower Mound, Texas area.
He played alongside Yandy Diaz and Austin Meadows during his MLB debut.
