Civil rights leader during the Civil Rights Movement who directly influenced and participated in the 1958 Oklahoma City Sit-in. She helped desegregate hundreds of establishments in Oklahoma during the late 50's and 60's.
She attained a B.A. in mathematics and a minor in history from Langston University in 1944.
She was an advisor for the Oklahoma City NAACP Youth Council, which had a lot of influence on the outcome of the Montgomery Bus Boycott.
She was the daughter of Ezell and Isabell Shepard.
She directly impacted the outcome of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s efforts.
