After attending boarding schools in Massachusetts and California, Jung-Ho studied economics at the University of Southern California. He worked for several years for Korean Airlines in Europe before getting his M.B.A. from the International Institute for Management Development in Switzerland. He returned home in 1989 as a director with Hanjin Investment & Securities, as Meritz was then named.
