Charles Wyly Net Worth: Charles Wyly was an American entrepreneur, businessman and philanthropist who had a net worth of $1 billion. He joined the billionaires' club along with his younger brother Samuel Wyly, with whom he pursued business affairs. The two were often referred to as the "Wyly brothers". Initially, Charles Wyly helped his brother, Samuel, establish and run a startup computer software company, University Computing, after which the two set up and led several other companies including arts and crafts retail chain Michaels Stores Inc. until they sold in 2006. In addition to the above, Charles Wyly was a major supporter of Republican causes and Dallas art projects. The latter includes a donation of $20 million meant for the construction of a performing arts center in Dallas. Charles Wyly Jr. was born on October 13, 1933, and he lost his life in a car accident in western Colorado on August 7, 2011, at the age of 77.
