He attributes much of his musical skill to his mom and dad and sister Gigi. His father reportedly does not know any of the lyrics to his songs.
Since the runaway success of "My Truck," he has collaborated with Keith Urban, Jimmie Allen, Mickey Guyton, Rascal Flatts' Gary Levox, Nelly, and Dierks Bentley. He has also written for Jacquees and Latto. He was friends with Chinx Drugz before the rapper was murdered in a drive-by shooting.
