Botanist who served as curator of botany for the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County from 1929 to 1970. She also founded the California Botanical Science Service, a private consulting Business.
At the age of 16 she moved to LA, where she worked for an amateur Botanist by classifying and mounting his large collection of dried plants.
While she was collecting plants in the El Segundo sand dunes she discovered a rare parasitic plant that she named Pholisma paniculatum.
She married her second husband, Chester D. Weiche, in 1942.
Like Jane Goodall she was an early female leader in the sciences.
